An alcohol-free beer is a beer which Alcohol By Volume (ABV) is below a threshold set by the country’s regulations.

• In France, alcohol-free beers have less than 1.2% ABV
• In the USA, alcohol-free beers have less than 0.5% ABV

In general, a beer is defined as a fermented beverage produced from water, malted cereals (at least 50% of all ingredients), hops and yeast.
